In just over an hour on Tuesday night, the American singer rattled through her hits like one of the rides at the amusement park that hugs the concreted grandstand. Britney Spears (her former Disney co-star), Kylie Minogue, and Elton John are among those who’ve graced the town’s Open Air Theatre, an unassuming venue that feels smaller than its 8,000 capacity. “How we doing, Scarborough?” It’s not a question you ever thought you’d hear Christina Aguilera ask – but she isn’t the first pop superstar to descend upon the seaside town.
